Andrew Nelles is a Chicago-based freelance photojournalist who contributes to a variety of news publications, including The Chicago Tribune, Sun-Times Media, and The Chicago News Cooperative. A graduate of Columbia College Chicago, he began freelancing in Chicago in 2009 after interning with the Bucks County Courier Times in Pennsylvania. He has covered a variety of topics including sports, features and breaking news. A lifelong resident of the Chicago area, Andrew has covered stories ranging from local high school sports to combat in Afghanistan.

Andrew's work has received numerous awards, including recognition by the Illinois Press Photographers Association, National Press Photographers Association, Illinois College Press Association, and SportsShooter.com.
